From the Beginning

A STORY OF "TIME" by Trevor Topsfield

1000 Years-Plus

A very long time ago in Heaven “O Morning Star Son od Dawn” said to himself; “I will make myself like the Most High”. (NIV) (Isaiah 14:14)

Little could he have realized what this rebellious thought would lead to?

Up to this point God ruled Heaven through his “Love” and it was a very pleasant place to be. God had the resources to supply everything needed so that none of the angel lacked for a thing. There was not a hint of trouble as all the angel had been created perfect and they lived in a perfect place. In fact it had been so good for their whole existence; none of the angels could imagine anything other than the way they were living.

Suddenly everything changed!

With the rebelliousness of “O morning Star” the “Justice of God” took charge of the situation as “Morning Star’s” ambition would destroy the perfection and eternal quality of heaven. A name change to Satan and a change in body form to become the Devil, Satan convinced other angels to follow him and these became demons. Because Heaven would be contaminated if they were allowed to stay there, they were exiled to the earth.

After some time (perhaps millions of years); the earth deteriorated to a situation that Genesis 1:2 calls “formless and empty”. Because they had been separated from God’s administration and provision they were left to their own devices which meant they did not sustain earth’s original eco-system as mentioned in Isaiah 45:18. To guarantee they would not contaminate the rest of God’s creation, a permanent place of abode was required for this rebellious group. Therefore, God created Hell so its fires would burn up all their imperfect deeds

With the creation of Hell Satan questioned God about his fairness, so God set up the earth to something of its former glory and with the addition of mankind God would resolve this challenge once and forever

With the introduction of mankind in the likeness of God, Satan had the opportunity to demonstrate his ability to be like the “Most High”. So if he could convince Adam and Eve to accept his authority then he could demonstrate his ability.

From the time Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil which is Satan policy on how he would function, he has ruled the world.

In the same way the angel only knew perfection before the rebelliousness of “O Morning Star, we only know “good and evil”.

Human history is the result of good and evil, but has it proven Satan to be like the “Most High”?

The issue has not yet been resolved, however God already knows the answer will be No!

But wait, how can this be a fair trial? Heaven is far superior to the earth, therefore to rule Heaven is much easier to rule than ruling the world.

OK! To resolve this God will rule the world after Satan has had his turn long enough to prove he could to do it forever.

1000 years is the time set. If after 1000 years and the earth is still in perfect condition, then God could continue for a 1000 times a 1000 and a 1000 times that again.

The question we could well ask; what will it be like for these 1000 years? The answer is that it will be the same degree of perfection as it will be in Heaven when God rules there for the rest of eternity.

The huge difference is the gap between God and Satan.

To start with there are no miracles as for as God is concerned, he created all that is created. (John 1:3) God is not bound by any rules, while there are certain rules of physics that are now in place here on earth, God can ignore them if he wants to and do whatever he pleases.

Satan and his band of demons are limited to a few magical tricks as they have an advantage over our physical limitations as we are mere mortals.

However, he does not have any influence over the universe so he has to function within the limits God has set. God being God holds all the aces and Satan being a member of God’s creation has no other option than to function within the limits God has set.

So what will these 1000 years be like?

God is light and in him there is no darkness. (1 John 1:5) This means that in these 1000 years and forever after this time God does not need the sun. Where he is, there is plenty of light and heat. (Revelation 7:16)

Jesus Christ will be the ruler for eternity as the “Love of God” can once again rule. The “Justice” will have sorted out the rebelliousness of all who rebelled against God and life will become normal again. The “Justice of God” will always exist, but its function will become a distant memory.

If we take away the sun, we have a completely different weather pattern. No longer will the topography of the landscape govern the productivity of different places, but God will provide whatever is needed to every place at his discretion. Therefore as Isaiah has prophesied in the beginning of Chapter 35 that “the desert and the parched land will be glad; wilderness will rejoice and blossom.” (Verse 1) (NIV) So there will be no talk of droughts or famine and every other environmental problem will sorted, God has the capability to do it, in fact all these things are minor details when the creation of the universe is compared to them.

God’s willingness to give and his unlimited resources will take away any tension between the inhabitants. James gives the reasons why there is so much trouble in the world in Chapter 4 Verses 1-3. “What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You want something but you don’t get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with the wrong motives.” (NIV)

When there is a problem it will be settled as Isaiah predicts in Chapter 2 Verse 4, so effective will Jesus’s ability to resolve problems that they will convert their arms into farming equipment, nor will they learn of warfare ever again.

Perfect peace in whatever area is considered; even the law of the jungle will no longer exist. According to Isaiah Chapter6, Verses 6-8 wolves, lambs, leopards, goats, calves, children, lions, you name them and they will all live as one happy unit when they come in contact with one another.

God will make the environment perfect, along with perfect peace and perfect provision; however, man has ruined things in the past why not in these 1000 years.

To ensure we do the right thing “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.”(Habakkuk 2:14) (NIV) Everyone will have a complete understanding of God and therefore know exactly how things should be done. In these 1000 years there will be no one who will misunderstand what should done and to make sure it is “I (God) will pour out my Spirit on all people” (Joel 2:28) (NIV)

1000 years of absolute bliss here on earth for everyone who has believed in Jesus Christ, but that is only the beginning. When this time period is over the conflict between God and Satan is finally done and dusted.

All those who did not accept God’s authority will be in Hell, while all that have accepted God’s authority will be transferred to heaven where the Kingdom of God will continue forever.
